Lost

I pause,
Waiting for the sound of my breath to catch up to my heart.

One moment,
Time standing still as I search within my soul.

Great fear,
As I search for the words to explain my love.

Terrible silence,
I find the English language has become my enemy.

Worry envelopes,
I'm afraid of what I might say.

Tears flowing,
I have said the wrong thing.

Sadness consuming,
I have to say goodbye for the final time.

Love lost,
Gone forever is my greatest mate.

Eternal loneliness,
Knowing that I will never love another.
