Struck By Cupid's Arrow - Love Poems By A Teenager

Poor Heart

I am a very poor man
in matters of the heart.
I have met wonderful women
but we always seem to part.

I have spent every dime,
every ounce of strength,
to find happiness in
a relationship of length.

All I have ever received
for my great strain
is a lonely soul
filled with pain.

Not once in my life
has a relationship last
longer than it takes
for a season to pass.

Each time it comes
close to that hour,
it always seems my
love begins to sour.

If it is me or her...
or both of us.
I do not know
what makes it bust.

Each season that passes
I get poorer still,
sliding down even further
that slippery hill.

What that leaves me
is broke and alone.
No place to be,
nowhere to call home.
